Can anyone recommend a good restaurant in LA for dinner and Bakery for a Cake?
It’s my friends birthday and we are trying to plan a nice night out in LA. We need a cool, hip, restaurant. Price is not really a problem, but we usually look for something around $30 a plate and they must have wine!!
Also, I need to know a really good bakery that makes EXCELLENT cakes. Something really wow and tastes amazing.
If you can name one or the other or both, that is great. Please include a link to their establishment if they have one. I can always google it if you don’t know it off-hand. Thank you for your help in advance.

Just friggin IM me … my list is so long I’m going to need specifics on what everyone like to eat and stuff… LOL. I’ll START the list by saying Chaya Beverly Hills because it has a HUGE menu that can basically satisfy every need …. No celebs really but the food is FAB. I’m fabulous, you’re fabulous, would we take anything LESS? LOL
If you’re in the mood for steak, there’s a toss up btwn these 2 (and they are my personal FAVES): Dakota at the Hollywood Roosevelt and BOA/Balboa (there’s one in Santa Monica on Ocean Ave or one on Sunset in your favorite, WeHo).
If you’re dying for French, there’s only one place in the world … Lilly’s on Abbott Kinney in Venice.. right down from our fave Hal’s. TDF. You can never go wrong with Lilly’s … big menu and a beautiful setting.. and a TON of wine. P.S. Wine and beer only so just make everyone aware if you pick this place (well, the hard drinkin folks, that is.. LOL)
For a little of everything (seafood, california cuisine) do Joe’s Restaurant… down the street from Hal’s also but a little further down from Lilly’s… FABULOUS. We went there for Brian’s birthday in Jan. Loved it!!
Last but not least, you can go see my friends at La Terza in WeHo/BH by the Beverly Center for amazing Italian. My friend is the manager of the restaurant and let’s just say I’ve never had a bad meal there and they treat me like a queen… we always blow thru sooooooooo much wine because my friend who manages the place loves to drink and always brings us different (expensive) wines to try.
